Artificial Insemination–

Nicohl, our one and only Milking Shorthorn, is in heat today. She was teasing the bull, who got through one fence and into a closer pasture (there was yet another pasture separating them) where she was enjoying the cool night weather and there was also another cow trying to mount her.

We were surprised when people at Bedlam Farm’s Open House told us that they got turned on to our Blog when Maria put up a video of Ed breeding a cow in the milking parlor. We have also videoed a birth that people were intrigued by.

So we hope you will be more aware of some of the things that demand our attention here on the farm. Feeding, cleaning, milking, moving animals to and from pastures, preparing animals and ourselves for the changing of seasons, planting and harvesting are just a few of our responsibilities.
